Research Interests

My research is in continuous optimization with special interest nonlinear programming, filter methods, derivative-free optimization, convex optimization, optimal methods, Fenchel conjugate.

 

Biographical information

In 2002 I got my Ph.D. degree in Applied Math at Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil and Université Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne, France. My advisors were Clóvis C. Gonzaga and Jean-Charles Gilbert.

During my Ph.D., I spent one year in INRIA (Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique) as a visiting student.

In 2007 I spent five months in Tokyo Institute of Technology where I had the pleasure to work with Professor Masakazu Kojima and Mituhiro Fukuda.

In 2011 I spent four months in State Key Laboratory of Scientific and Engineering Computing - Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, China where I had the pleasure to work with Ya-Xiang Yuan's team.
