Introduction

Education 5.0 merges cutting-edge technology with socio-emotional and cognitive skill development in a digital-first world. The Metaverse introduces persistent, interactive environments where avatar-based interactions enable collaborative learning opportunities.

Blended Learning

Combines physical and virtual realities under the OnLife paradigm, creating seamless educational transitions.

Supports experiential learning through immersive, context-rich environments that respond to user interactions.

Gamification in Education

Enhances engagement, motivation, and critical thinking through structured challenges and reward systems.

Provides immediate feedback loops and progressive skill development through adaptive learning pathways.

Immersive Technologies Framework

  • Virtual Reality and avatars promote active participation and a sense of presence in collaborative learning spaces.
  • Gamification and simulations foster deeper understanding and safer practice environments for complex tasks.
  • Alignment with SDG 4 (Quality Education) and Brazilian BNCC ensures equity and curriculum relevance.
  • Tools like Unity, Spatial.io, and Blender support the creation of interactive 3D learning experiences.

SpatialVerse & DroneVerse Platforms

Developed for the Manna_Team, these platforms create immersive, interdisciplinary educational experiences tailored to modern learning needs.

SpatialVerse

Features thematic virtual areas: robotics, sustainability, augmented reality, and computational thinking.

Didactic Sequences (DS) guide students through structured, gamified learning pathways.

Drone Icon DroneVerse

Simulates drone missions aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Students develop piloting skills, spatial reasoning, and problem-solving in risk-free virtual scenarios.

Research Methodology

A mixed-methods approach was used to develop and evaluate the educational platforms, combining qualitative and quantitative data.

  • Development with Unity and Spatial.io for immersive virtual environments.
  • Implementation of serious game mechanics, including point systems, rewards, and level progression.
  • Evaluation through questionnaires, interviews, and performance metrics across 38 schools.
  • Engagement of 68 educators and students to assess usability and learning outcomes.
